Hinds County.

This day personally appeared before me Oliver Clifton Mayor of Jackson and a Justice of the Peace in and for said County, D. Y. Howell who made oath that Willis Johnson, alias Willis Jackson did on or about the 19^th day of March ^1871^ within said State and County, Two Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars lawful money of the United States, the property of Mrs E. Y. Wall, then and there being found feloniously take steal and carry away. Wherefore affiant prays that a warrant issue for ~~his~~ ^the^ arrest ~~and that he be~~ of the said Willis Johnson alias Willis Jackson and that he be made to answer the charges proferred against him. Affiant further states that he has reason to believe that the said Johnson alias Jackson is without the jurisdiction of this State & within the State of Louisiana
