Jackson Miss:

My Dear Sir.

As we are about to dissolve our business connections here and I return to Mississippi, I desire to obtain some place in the State department in which I can be of service to you and my State. If there is some position which I can fill and you deem it consistant with your duty, you would confer a great favor on me by placing me therein, and I assure you I will use evry exertion to do credit to myself and give satisfaction to you.

Please present me in kindness to Mrs Alcorn and believe me to be your friend
