Sir,

The Governor is this day in receipt of your letter of the 6th wherein you make enquiry as to certain lands of yours which were sold for taxes. By his direction I enquired at the Auditor's office and found that the fractional part of the S. W. 1/4. 30—10—5 had been sold for taxes of '68 on the 5^th,, of July 1869.

The cost of redemption of the same either at the hands of the Chancery Clerk of Panola County or the Auditor of Public accounts will be as follows;

First cost (or taxes of 68)	$3.10
50% damages	1.55
Taxes of 1869,	.60
,, ,, 1870	2.40
Certificate	1.00
	$8 65/100

If convenient it would be best for you to redeem these lands at the Auditor's office or if as you say, you have paid the taxes bring forward your receipts to show that such is the case and it will be the duty of the tax Collector to make good your title with-out any expense to you whatever.
