To his Excelenc. Govenor Alcorn

Dear Sir

I take the liberty of adresing this few lines to you and take live to petition you for Office Counselman for this City as I have heard that some of them will be Removed from Office I have been here in Buisseness since July 1863 in Dry goods and I dont think that I have at man in Town witch will say anything again my Stanting ore Character I could send you a patition with the names of our princibly Citizen and Merchants if required I would beg or ask that this Letter be considered privade between uss as I would not like for the Ctizen here to haer it Until I should meet with a favorby
