To James L. Alcorn Governor of the State of Mississippi.

I hereby tender to your Honor my resignation of the office of Member of the Board of Supervisors for the county of Hancock in said State, for the Precinct N^o five (5) of said county.

It is hoped by the undersigned, members of said Board that Mr White's resignation will not be accepted, he having resigned only to avoid a legal difficulty arising from the change of the boundary line between the Counties of Hancock & Harrison, which is of a temporary character
