TO THE Sheriff of Noxubee County

Greeting:

Whereas, at the [gap] Term, 1874, of the Circuit Court of Noxubee County, in said State, J. M. Parham of Kemper^Co^ was ~~convicted of the crime of~~^a defaulting witness^ in case of the State vs J. H. Eskridge, and by the Court sen=tenced to ~~years confinement in the State Penitentiary~~^pay a fine of $500.⁰⁰ (Five Hundred dollars)^;

Now therefore, I, Adelbert Ames Governor of the State of Mississippi, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of said State, and for divers good and sufficient reasons, me, thereto moving, do grant unto the said J. M. Parham of Kemper Co a full pardon^and remission of fine^ for said crime of Defaulting Witness and do authorize and direct you, on receipt of these presents, to ~~release him from confinement~~^remit said fine:^.
