The Grand Jurors of the State of Miss Elected, empaneled Sworn & charged to enquire in & for the ~~County~~ body of Mon-roe County State of Miss upon their oath present that H. W. Shaw whose christian is un-known to the Grand Jurors aforesaid on the 16th day of Feby A. D. 1873 in the County aforesaid in & upon one Reuben William Hendon with a certain means & force likely to procure death to wit a pistol loaded & charged with Gun Powder & leaden bullets wilfully & feloniously did make an assault the said Reuben Hilliam Hendon then and their being policeman of the City of Aberdeen & in the due Execution & discharge of his duty as such & did then & thereby in so doing wilfully & feloniously resist the said Reuben Hilliam Hendon so in the discharge of his duty as such officer lawfully at-tempting to arrest him the said H. W. Shaw whose christian name is to the Grand Jury aforesaid unknown against the peace & dignity of the State of Mississippi

And the Grand Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do further present that

that the said H. W. Shaw, whose christian name to the Grand Jurors aforesaid is unknown on the 16th day of Febry 1873 in the County aforesaid with a certain pistol a deadly weapon loaded and charged with gun powder & leaden bullets which pistol the said H. W. Shaw then had and held in & upon one R. H. Hendon wilfully & feloniously did make an assault & him the said R. H. Hendon did then & there wilfully & feloniously beat, wound & ill treat with intent in so doing then & thereby wilfully felonious-ly & of his malice aforethought to kill & murder the said R. H. Hendon against the peace & dignity of the State of Miss, and the Grand Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do further present that the said H. W. Shaw whose christian name is unknown as aforesaid on the day & year aforesaid in the County aforesaid with Certain means & force likely to produce death to wit a pistol in and upon the said Reuben Hilliard Hendon did wilfully and feloniously make an assault and him the said Reuben Hillard Hendon did then and there with the said
