Dear Sir I will give you a few mames of Tenants on the Place which I now live on, Who is much in nead of aid from the ^dams^ overflow (this the Cannon Place is about 3 miles east of Carons) we cant get of the Place only in a boat and the water is coming up ^still^ but if it dose not come more than 18 Inches, Which is the opinion of the oldest Swamp men hear we can mak a 1/4 crop of cotton & if the water goes down in 40 days we can make a 1/4 crop of corn that is if we can get Supplies that we can work ^on^ but the land lord nor merchant cant or will not help thoes that have nothing but thear crop to depend on
