Dear Sir:—

We, the undersigned would earnestly recommend to you the appointment of James F. Pratt, to the position of Chancery Clerk of DeSoto County, made vacant by the appointment of J. N. Campbell to the position of Chancellor of the 11^th district. Mr. Pratt, is a young man of decided ability; has been Deputy Clerk in the said office for the past two years, and is in every respect qualified to fill the said office.
