Subjoined, please find the answers to interrogatories contained in letter of Governor Ames, of Octbr 15,^th.

1^st	The assessessed Valuation of taxable property in the State, Real, and personal for the year 1873. was . . . .	$224.238.519.06
2^d.	The total bonded Debt of the State on the 1^st of Jan'y 1874. was	22.433.800.—
	and the floating Debt . . . . .	2.074.380.—
	Grand Total	$24 508 180
	which under the operations of the Funding Act (No. 3. of 1874) is reduced to	$14.704.980.00
3^d	The tax percent to meet payment of Interest—being seven percent—on the above bonded debt is give and one half mills on the dollar.

4.	The Expenses of the State Govern-ment for the current year (exclusive of payments for Interest School and Levee purposes) are	$1,172,124.70
