To his Excellency Adelbert Ames.

D^r Sir

Your^s of Nov 10^th has been to hand Same day, but Circumstinces beyond My Controll prevented an earlier Reply.

As to the present indebtedness of our County in the aggregate Ammonts to $2000—the amount out being in shape of Warrants the same been no interest—It is however proper—for me to Say that the present levy now being collected will fully liquidate Said debt leaving a balance in the County Treasury.

As to the rate of Taxation. County 25 per cent Special 15 percent—pior 15. School House 15 per cent & deficit in Teacher fund 15
