EXECUTIVE OFFICE,
JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI.

TO THE Sheriff of Noxubee County

Greeting:

Whereas, at the April Term, 1875 of the Circuit Court of Noxubee County, in said State, Crawford Johnson was convicted of the crime of Assault & Battery, and by the Court sentenced to Sixteen Months imprisonment in the county jail

NOW, THEREFORE, I, A. K. Davis Lt Gov Actg Governor of the State of Mississippi, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of said State, and for divers good and sufficient reasons, me, thereto moving, do commute the sentence of the said Crawford Johnson to Six Months imprisonment in the county jail and do authorize and direct you, on receipt of these presents, to Discharge him from confinement at the end of six months from the date of his sentence
