Greeting:

Whereas, At the March Term, 1874, of the Circuit Court of Alcorn County, in said State, George W. Mitchell was ~~convicted of~~indicted for the crime of Murder, ~~and by the Court sentenced to [blank] years confinement in the State Penitentiary~~;

Now, Therefore, I, ~~ADELBERT AMES,~~ ^A. K. Davis Lt Gov Actg^ Governor of the State of Mississippi, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Laws of said State, and for divers good and sufficient reasons, me, thereto moving, do grant unto the said George W. Mitchell a full pardon for said crime of Murder and do authorize and direct you, on receipt of these presents to release him from confinement.
