My Dear General

The Ames impeachment committee gave me leave to take a copy of my evidence before them. I had not the time to do so before leaving Jackson. I am entitled to a copy of it.

Will you do me the favor to procure one for me and forward at once to Washington D. C.—General Delivery office. Should you not have time nor inclination to do so please procure someone to do it and let me know the cost and I will pay him for his troubles.
