Letter from Mrs. C. Lockenwitz to Mississippi Governor James L. Alcorn; May 18, 1871
From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Governor Alcorn Collection. Letter from Mrs. C. Lockenwitz to Mississippi Governor James L. Alcorn, informing Alcorn that she had not been paid for her services as the matron of the Mississippi State Lunatic Asylum in Vicksburg, Mississippi, for the months of December 1869 through April 1870. Mrs. Lockenwitz asks for her claim to be paid. Included is a note from H. F. Hewson, Alcorn's private secretary, giving a summary of Lockenwitz's letter.

Hicks, hospital physician at the city hospital of Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Mississippi Governor James L. Alcorn, informing Alcorn that D. A. Lehuse (spelling is probably wrong) had been selected by the Vicksburg Board of Alderman as the superintendent of the city hospital. Hicks also makes his case that he did not need the assistance of this person's office. Included is a note from H. F. Hewson, private secretary to Alcorn, giving an executive summary of Hicks's letter.

Fisher, 50th United States Colored Infantry, requesting rations to be issued for the regimental hospital at Jackson, Mississippi. The return is approved by Colonel O. C. Risdon, thus authorizing the Assistant Commissary of Subsistence to issue the requested rations.
