Clapp in the Office of Produce Loan in Grenada, Mississippi, to Mississippi Governor Charles Clark, concerning alleged criminal offenses committed by J. A. Sample while acting as an agent of the Confederate government. Clapp notes that Sample is now living in Alabama. Clapp asks Clark to make a requisition on the governor of Alabama to have Sample extradited to Mississippi for trial on charges of forgery and fraud.
