Lee near Emorys Bridge, Mississippi, to Mississippi Governor Charles Clark at Macon, Mississippi, informing the Governor that Confederate Major General Nathan B. Forrest was within three miles of Okolona, Mississippi, in pursuit of the retreating United States Army.
