The Civil War & Reconstruction Governors of Mississippi project (CWRGM) supports educators' efforts to teach students to analyze and interpret the complexities of the Civil War and Reconstruction eras. We work regularly with veteran educators of all fields — not just history/social studies — to select feature documents, design lesson plans, and discuss effective ways to use CWRGM collections in K-12 classrooms. With educators in mind, we designed a "Sample Documents" website for a brief introduction to the larger CWRGM collection. This includes about 80 sample documents that we contextualize with short historical essays, lesson plans with selected documents, and links to our podcast and videos that discuss the importance of these records.
