Finding, Analyzing, and Applying Primary Sources to Your NHD Project
Tuesday, October 25, 2022, 10:00 am–2:00 pm
Council Bluffs Public Library
Join National History Day (NHD) in Iowa program coordinator Hanna Howard and Civil War and Reconstruction Governors of Mississippi Project (CWRGM) Senior Assistant Editor Lindsey Peterson for a hands-on primary source research workshop. The workshop will introduce students to CWRGM's online collection of thousands of freely-available and fully-transcribed documents written to Mississippi's governors during the American Civil War and Reconstruction. Students will then use the collection to practice finding, evaluating, and applying relevant primary sources to a sample NHD project.
Thanks to generous NHPRC funding, this workshop is free-of-charge but advance registration is required to attend. The workshop is limited to 60 participants–first come, first served. A waiting list will become available if the workshop reaches capacity.
