The 13th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry (Confederate), formerly known as the 3rd Regiment, North Carolina Volunteers, was organized in May 1861 in Northampton County, North Carolina under the command of Col. William Dorsey Pender and served in the Eastern Theater under Colston's, Garland's, Pender's, and Scales' Brigades in the Army of Northern Virginia. It was later commanded by Cols.
