The 10th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry (Confederate) was organized in August 1861 at Camp Marion, near Georgetown, South Carolina under the command of Col. Arthur M. Manigault and served in the Western Theater under Sharp's Brigade and in the Army of Tennessee. It was temporarily consolidated with the 19th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry from September 1863‚ April 1864, and again on April 10, 1865 to form Walker's Battalion, South Carolina Infantry. Commonly known as the Lamar Guards, Company B of the 19th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry (Confederate) was organized in the winter of 1861-1862 in Edgefield County, South Carolina under the command of Capt.
