Dear Governor⁠—

On my return from Winston I find the accompanying letter recommending Abbott for Marshal of Okolona. He is son to Old Eli & would make a good officer⁠—

I guess your Senator from Chickasaw will oppose Hill for Shff⁠—If so it will be public welfare on one side & personal partizanship on the other⁠—
